Juan T. Vazquez Martin, Cuban master of abstract painting, 1941.
He was born in Cabarien, Villa Clara province of Cuba. In his early days he started to paint as every child does. Soon he had decided he liked enought to decide to study painting in an academy. Vazquez Martin won a scholarship and started his studies of painting in the Leopold Romañach academy of Santa Clara city at his province. Still a student he was among the first members of the Plastic Art section at the Writer and Artists Union of Cuba founded on August 22, 1961 and also he participated on the VI Biennale of Sao Paulo, Brazil selected with already stablished painters to represent Cuba in 1962.
In time this important Cuban painter was among the painters considered masters of the abstract paintings in his country. President and vice-president of that section several times from 1989-98.
Founder and director of art schools and galleries, teacher of painting and drawing.

Vazquez Martin is member of the Writer and Artists Union of Cuba (UNEAC) from 1962.
